This quilt pattern is called “Jewel Box” and it tried very hard to be an all purple quilt. As I worked the design, other colors insisted on being included and the results were not exactly as they were envisioned from the beginning. It is truly a scrap quilt as I found bits of calico, batiks, and plaids worked their way into the design. There are flowers, clouds, hearts, and even some fruits included. All add to the diversity of colors and patterns in this quilt.

I have several four-footed assistants that help me in my quilting. For this quilt, my main helper was Denebir's Yogurt, a blue-point Birman kitten. She did a wonderful job supervising my every stitch.:-)
This quilt was completed in August of 2001 and now resides with a friend in California.
